Residential Solar Inverter
The global warming concerns coupled with less reliance on fossil-fuel-based electricity generation will drive to increase the adoption of solar energy. There are three types of inverters that are currently available for solar energy systems : string inverters, string inverters with power optimizers, and microinverters.
A string inverters convert power on connected multi string solar panels. string inverter systems are not always the best solution for residential application that are prone to shading throughout the day. However, its ease of install and lower price make them attractive as a residential solar application.
Micro inverters make the DC to AC inversion at each individual solar panel. Micro inverter can make smart to use power of each solar panel independent of the production of any neighboring panels that partially shaded.
Power optimizer systems offer many of the same benefits as Micro inverters. Power optimizer systems are often considered a compromise between microinverters and the standard string inverter. String solar systems with power optimizers have an individual optimizer component located at each panel. However, instead of converting the DC electricity to AC electricity right at the solar panel. DC electricity transferred to string inverter. The panel level optimization afforded by power optimizers provide higher system efficiency than using a string inverter alone under partial shade condition.
